Weymouth Beach Volleyball UKBT Event Details 2026
Entry for Men’s and Women’s 3 Star (27th June) is now full!
We will be holding 4 UKBT events on Weymouth Beach this summer. The 42nd Weymouth Beach Volleyball Classic ( UKBT Grand Slam and UKBT Qualifier) and 3 events in the Weymouth UKBT Summer Series.
The UKBT Summer Series events will see Womens and Mens (the first two are 2 Star and the third a 3 Star) competitions on each Saturday and a 1 or 2 Star mixed event on the Sunday. On both days play will start at 9am and finish at approx 5pm. All the events will take place on Weymouth’s permanent courts on the Main beach in the heart of Weymouth. Further details will be issued closer to the event

BEACH VOLLEYBALL CLASSIC 2026 UKBT 5 STAR
The Classic is Weymouth Volleyball Club’s flagship event. It was the first ever Beach Volleyball event held in Great Britain when it began in 1983. It remains Britain’s most prestigious event and was described by British Beach legend Denise Austin as the ‘ Wimbledon’ of British Beach Volleyball. On this site you can find a list of previous winners and Players of the Tournament which reads like a Who’s Who of British Beach Volleyball players.
The event is held on Weymouth’s main Beach, voted by Trip Advisor as Britain’s Number 1 beach in 2024. This is right in the heart of the town and is a few metres from accommodation, restaurants and bars. It is played across upto 8 courts with the Centre Court having seating for 350 supporters and a large marquee for players and officials.
The event is a key part of the UKBT and is a Grand Slam event on Sat/ Sun and there is also a qualification event on Friday afternoon .There will be Prize Money for the Grand Slam event. The event will be run by UKBT with the support of Weymouth Volleyball Club.

It is proposed to hold a Charity/ Corporate event on Thursday evening. Further details of this to follow
Friday 24th July UKBT Qualifying Competition Men and women
Play will start at 12:00 until approximately 20:00.
Players who haven’t qualified for Saturday/ Sunday. The final one or two teams (depending on other wildcard awards) will be offered a Wild Card into the main Grand Slam draw on Saturday
Saturday 25th July UKBT Grand Slam Mens and Women
Grand Slam 16 team events for Men and Women begin
Sunday 27th July UKBT Grand Slam Mens and Womens
Finals day for Grand Slam events men and Women

Rules and Format: The event is part of the UKBT , all players will be registered with UKBT and and have agreed the UKBT regulations. All competitions will be run under UKBT and FIVB regulations. Entry is through the UKBT website.
Insurance: The event will be registered and insured with Volleyball England.
Accommodation: There are hundreds of hotels and Guest Houses of all types in Weymouth which can be found on accommodation sites. However the closest to the volleyball site have an address with a low number on the Esplanade. These are within 100 metres of the site.
