LEVELS OF ENTRY

Teams can start in any series they choose but:

  • A series is designed for experienced Beach players who are aiming to improve their standard of play. They may be planning to enter the VEBT British series and/or qualifying for the Weymouth Beach Classic run by Weymouth Beach Volleyball Club from 29th July-31st July.

  • B series is for players  who have some experience of playing volleyball but are looking for a more social evening

  • The C series is for beginners to the game.

Once teams have played more than one event in the league there will be certain rules about what series they can compete in. These are:

Any team/player  playing in series A and who  has reached a semi final stage cannot then take part in a B Series event in the same season (except in exceptional circumstances)

If a team wins Series B they are then expected to compete in Series A the following week. After that week they may return to Series B if they wish.

MATCH ORGANISATION

Each Tuesday at 6.30pm, after entry has closed a format will be devised which gives as much playing time as possible but allows enough time for the final to be completed before dusk. This format is the responsibility solely of the organisers. The organisers will take into account number of teams, time of dusk and weather conditions

All players who compete in the Series will fill in a registration form with Weymouth Beach Volleyball Club. Parents of players who are Under 16 must complete a parental permission form

Players that win the A series will score same the number of A points as number of teams competing on that night. (i.e 8 teams compete 8 points scored. 12 teams competing 12 points scored)

Losing semi finalists will score a quarter the total teams competing (assuming a minimum of 6 teams compete)

In the A series any team that wins a match on the evening will score a minimum of one point.

Teams in the B series will score points in the same way.

A points always out rank B points. ( i.e a player with 1 A point out ranks a player with 42 B points)
