An exciting start to the season with the West Dorset schools Tournament during the day. 50 year 9 students competing for a place in the finals of the Dorset school games on the 13th of July.

The winners of the girl's tournament were Sir John Colfox School

and the boy's were    Wey valley school.   

Today was also the start of the new season for our own Tuesday evening "Go Spike" tournaments.

These will be preceded by a coaching session for 13 -17 year olds from 5pm - 6pm.

The "Go Spike" courts are now back up and were in use before we had finished ! Many thanks to those who helped erect them.

Volleyballs can be borrowed from Darren at the Boat cafe - but you will need to leave a £10 deposit.

The Local league season starts on May the 1st.

For the first time in 29 years there will not be a Weymouth Classic in 2012.

Our date clashes with the Olympic Games and with Weymouth being the venue for the sailing that makes staging an event impossible.

We have been considering moving the date but at a meeting last night it was decided that was just not feasible with commitments to London and so much else taking place in Weymouth.

 We do plan  however, to be back on the last weekend of July 2013 and in the meantime the Permanant "Go Spile" courts go up on March 31st!!
